do you have questions?? We have answers!!

Our office is available to answer any questions you might have and to also be a resource for planning your multiday rafting adventure. We are available via phone at (541) 633-8178 or by email natesrogueadventures@gmail.com. Below we’ve tried to address the most common questions we get regarding our day and multi-day trips.

  • trip meeting locations

    • ROGUE RIVER MULTI-DAY TRIP - meet at the Galice Resort at 8:00 a.m. the morning of your trip. Galice has lodging available and is a convenient place to stay the night prior to your trip.

    • LOWER DESCHUTES RIVER MULTI-DAY TRIP - we have several meeting spots depending on the length of the trip and whether it’s primarily a fishing expedition or a whitewater adventure. At the time of booking, we will determine when and where your group will meet.

    • LOWER DESCHUTES RIVER DAY TRIP - meet at Harpham Flat at 10:00 a.m.

  • packing for your multi-day rafting trip

    • During our pre-trip meeting (8:00 a.m. at Galice Resort for Rogue Wild & Scenic trips or at our predetermined Lower Deschutes River launch site) we will provide you with a large dry bag (camp bag) and a small dry bag (day bag). These waterproof bags will carry your belongings for the duration of our time on the river. The large dry bag measures 16″ in diameter and 25″ tall when closure is rolled to maximum volume. Pack your clothing into a soft duffle bag or laundry bag so that it easily fits into the dry bag next to other items. Use small ziplock bags to organize medicines and toiletries. Be sure to bring a small pillow as well. Please reference our multi-day packing list for a full list of supplies to bring on your trip.

  • dietary requests and food allergies

    • With advance notice we are happy to accommodate most dietary requests. At the time of your reservation, we try to collect as much information as possible to make your trip perfect for you. This includes food preferences, requests, and allergies. If you have any questions, concerns, or simply want to update your roster information, please call our office at (541) 633-8178 or email natesrogueadventures@gmail.com

  • What type of boats will be on my trip?

    • We typically have a few different boats to choose from:

      1. Oar Boats – these rafts carry the majority of our gear and also provide a comfortable place to kick back and relax as your guide rows the boat downstream.

      2. Paddle Boats – these rafts are more participatory, and passengers will have a paddle to help move the boat downstream. A guide in the back controls the raft with oars while giving instruction to the crew.

      3. Inflatable Kayaks (Duckies) – The most active way to head downstream is in an inflatable kayak. These boats are fast, super maneuverable, and an absolute blast to run through rapids. You’ll follow a paddle boat, and the guide will give you pointers for each rapid.

  • Can i bring my favorite beverages on my TRIP?

    • Yes, absolutely! Cans are best, but we can also take glass bottles as long as extreme care is practiced to avoid broken glass accidents. We have safe storage space in dry boxes and coolers. For obvious safety reasons, we do not provide access to alcoholic beverages while on the river. Do not pack any beverages in your personal dry bags as they could break or rupture. Please give any containers to your guide for safe keeping.

  • how much room for my personal BELONGINGS?

    • The large dry bag measures 16″ in diameter and 25″ tall when closure is rolled to maximum volume. We also provide a smaller dry bag that you have access to throughout the day. Please limit your personal items to these bags. If you have additional items that will not fit in the bags we provide to you, please contact our office in advance so we can discuss special accommodations. Give us a call at (541) 633-8178 or email natesrogueadventures@gmail.com

  • what will i sleep ON?

    • We are proud to offer sleeping pads that are ultra-comfortable, thick, and extremely durable that are made for river trips for our guests. Since our sleeping pads are waterproof and inflatable, try floating on yours in the river next to camp to beat the afternoon heat!

  • what are toilets like?

    • Depending on where we camp, there will either be an outhouse or porta-potty set up near camp. If we have a porta-potty, we will have it set-up in a private location that is easily accessed from camp. We provide toilet paper and use an indicator (normally a paddle) to show whether the “bathroom” is in use. We also encourage guests to urinate directly into the river when possible. The solution to pollution is dilution!

  • will i see wildlife, bugs, and poison OAK?

    • We’ll be traveling through a wilderness area that is home to many creatures. It is very common over the course of our Rogue River trips to see bear, deer, bald eagles, and other wildlife. On our Lower Deschutes trips, we may see big horned sheep, otters, beavers, deer, birds of prey, and wild horses. We take precautions to keep human and wildlife interactions to a minimum and these will be discussed by our guides before your trip and at camp.

    • Bugs are going to be a part of any outdoor adventure and we recommend packing mosquito repellent as they tend to show themselves late in the afternoon and early evening. Ticks are also something to be aware of and it is advisable to check yourself every morning or evening in the privacy of your tent. Tweezers are very useful in carefully removing any ticks. If you have severe allergic reactions to bug bites and/or bee stings, please bring any and all necessary medications and devices to prevent anaphylaxis.

    • Rattlesnakes are part of the healthy ecosystem of the Lower Deschutes River and Rogue River Basins. Although they are rarely seen in camp, one must take care when exploring outside of camp and keep a keen eye and ear to avoid any unwanted interactions.

    • Poison Oak is very common on the Rogue River and can also be found on the Lower Deschutes River. If you have had severe allergic reactions when you’ve come into contact with Poison Oak in the past, we highly recommend that you bring with you any and all necessary medications and devices to prevent anaphylaxis.
